Music Fests Aren't For Me, Maybe

"What is music without fashion? What is fashion without music?" Should I say boring? I found myself quoting that last weekend after spending time with two of my friends whom I consider my "little sisters" in a music festival (Manila X: Style X Music Fest), that didn't only celebrate music, but fashion too! As that quote keeps on echoing in my mind, I also thought "What is travel without music and fashion?" That we'll discover when the three of us, along with two other girl friends, will travel soon. For the time being, let me share with you this another first in my life. Yes, you got it right! It was the first music fest for me! And don't even start laughing! :-D

At this point in my life, I always thought music fests are not for me anymore. Though I worship music since I was a kid, events like this bother me a little bit this time. First concern? The age group. But hey, please don't think I'm too old, okay? I just tend to over-analyze my number sometimes, which is kind of sad actually. It ruins the fun, right? Second? The fashion! I learned about music fests when I saw a few fashion people I follow online who'd been to Coachella and Glastonbury and aside from the music, which I have no idea what it's all about, it was always about the fashion! I know. I know. I know. I work in the fashion industry and that shouldn't be a problem. On the contrary, that's where the pressure is coming from.

The event was in collaboration with Zalora Philippines and some media partners too---radio stations, magazines, and cable channels!

While The Juans Band is playing their hits, models come out sashaying fashion pieces from Zalora!

But of course, Red Eye! :-P I know I've been so in love with that pair of Ranroe mandals for so long now and my previous posts are proofs of that, but do you think I should move on already? Hahaha Maybe move on to another pair...another pair of Ranroe footwear! :-D

Too young to take love seriously, but quite in the right age to give it a try :-P Meet Coley! She's all forms of art rolled into one! She cooks too and feeds the hungry like me. Philanthropic, right? And we both eat a lot yet we don't get fat! How lucky are we, Coley? Hahaha On a serious note though, she's one friend to keep, a sister in my case. As they say, friends are the family we can choose!

This is The Sassy Theory! I could only wish I have her energy, her boundless pizzazz! She's a certified hippie from the 70's who unfortunately reincarnated in our generation! Hahaha By the way, her name is Saskia!

 The trio at daytime!

 The trio at nighttime!

And I'm glamorizing it again! Don't get the smoke, but you can get the look. Sleeveless top and denim jacket sponsored by friends. Pink shorts from Topman and mandals by Ranroe ;-)

Talking about my girls reminds me so much about the Friendster years when I was freshman at the university. Remember the Testimonials section? Hahaha I doubt if they are familiar with that social networking site before Facebook dawned into our lives! Anyway, it was a wonderful first for me! And believe it or not, even with hesitations, I still want to do it again. Experience it with a bigger crowd and hopefully, I will have that Saskia energy next time and that Coley "love birds" moment so I won't feel out of place!

XoXo,

Red Eye ;-)

P.S. I don't know what difference this music fest has compared to LifeDance in Cebu, which I happen to experience more than a year ago, but if both were different, then this was defo my first music fest! LOL :-D
