Out of the Woods

The search was like finding our way out from the forest. It was dark, a bit windy, and at some point, scary! The journey was a choice, not an imposition from anyone. We probably regretted it as we struggled to look for the right path to take just so we can see the clear again, breathe normally, and free ourselves from worry. There were crazy talks in between, but that somehow regaled us as we walked from here to there and paused at a few stopovers trying to get to the place where our friend was going to meet her date who had no idea she had a battalion of chaperons with her! :-D It was their first time meeting so we thought we should assure her safety and we need a good catching up moment as well so the timing was perfect. As we slowly ushered ourselves out from the concrete jungle we got lost into, we found a spot that changed our minds from going out!

Atop a somewhat dilapidated, quite musty, and maybe haunted building along Shaw Boulevard is a place that completely left us in awe. If not for our friend's date who invited her there, we would've not acquainted ourselves with this surprising spot that undeniably captivated our hearts! So thanks to him! There's a big sneaky story behind finding this place, but I think I'll have to keep that to myself to spare the guy from embarrassment or us for this matter! (mouth zipped)! Hahaha

BUNK as what this mysterious place is called is probably not new to many, but for us who just discovered the place, it was a breath of fresh of air. It may be nestled within an old structure, but there's something refreshing about it, something new that we cannot experience in other bars. As one enters the place, the accommodating guard will lead him through towards the open area where visitors can just sit on matted floors. The manager then, if not the owner, will provide cushions to make the experience comfier. You can also use the cushions to feel more relaxed as you gaze on the sky painted with twinkling diamonds. The artworks on the walls and the romantic lighting on the wall and on the tables add a romantic feel aside from serving as a perfect aid or backdrop as we take our seflies! :-D

The other side, as seen on the first photo, is where the bar is. That's where you can find proper tables and chairs too if lying on the floors and using shared cushions are not your thing. There is a big screen as well where videos are shown. But that's one of the reasons why we didn't stay in that area. Hahaha Personally, it distracts my attention especially in moments when I really want a conversation with people I'm with. It was where my friend and her date were though while the rest of us were in our fluffy backrests out in the open. The price of their drinks are reasonable enough and even if I was nearly broke when this unexpected night out happened, the amount we paid for fortunately didn't break the bank. The music was good too, but since I didn't have huge dinner, the alcohol got me tipsy and my senses slightly paralyzed. 

When you stand up and feel the cool wind making love with your skin, a vivid view of the metro skyline will delight your consciousness and surely will take your breath away too. I couldn't figure though, which part of the metro is what's captured in the photo. Hahaha Nevertheless, it's a view to enjoy! I'm not sure if's a good place to recommend for Valentine's Day, but since the celebration falls on a weekend, surely anywhere will be flooded with couples, partner-seekers, happy singles, and friends, Bunk can be an option. For us, the first time we got "bunk-ed" was not enough so we'll really have to go back whether it's V-Day or not! :-D

So how do I get out from this blogtry? Hahaha It seems that as I write this, I'm still "bunk-ed." My mind is still thinking about the drinks, my heart is still beating about the conversations, and my senses are still feeling the thrills of the place. We wanted to get out of the woods as we looked for our way to the 8th floor, but it was getting lost that led us there. It was the acting in front of our friend's date. So am I out of the woods yet? Hahaha
